When my best friend Chris brought his family to join ours at the Beach, he asked me,“Is it possible to make bacon with maple syrup, garlic, and chilis? What? Why not!”Chris is my best friend. Garlic and chilis are my friends, too. Maple syrup is everybody’s friend. That summer, Big Chris put Bethany Beach on the bacon map.
